Gareth McHardy
Director of Impact
Gareth is the Director of Impact at UI Charitable, where he develops and manages initiatives that strengthen the effectiveness and impact of the organizations UI Charitable supports. He leads a pilot through which UI Charitable funds a dedicated team to work directly with nonprofit organizations supported by its donors, helping them strengthen their operations and increase their impact.
Previously, Gareth was an investment analyst at Base Capital, a venture capital firm in Cape Town, where he focused on investment research, due diligence, and portfolio management. He also worked as an associate at University Impact, conducting due diligence on impact investments.
Gareth is a Rhodes Scholar and holds an MPhil in International Development from the University of Oxford and an MCom in Economics from the University of Cape Town.
